Mar. 10th, 2008 09:38 pmDang it. AOL isn't working on Firefox for me tonight. How bizarre. I think it might be my connection, too, because some other sites are funky. Live Journal is coming in fiiiine though, which is ironic.
I am so tired. Sleep shall soon be mine.
Oh! I love New Amsterdam! It's really good, with a likable lead and some really cool historical flashbacks. So yay, new show of joy and joyness.
In book news, since I have a lot more time to read nowadays, I am reading The Ghost Map, a fascinating account of London's cholera epidemic of 1854, and re-reading The Stand. I didn't plan this, but it makes me laugh whenever I think about it. Yay plague stories!

Mar. 3rd, 2008 09:44 pmYou guys...
I watched the pilot for The X-Files and then Beyond the Sea tonight. It's only taken me eight years to get past my seething disappoint about what happened to my one time favorite show, but oh WOW, do I love The X-Files again. I want to see Bad Blood and mytharc and Scully lying about being fine and Mulder sticking his fingers in potentially dangerous goo and porno nurse kicks and Clyde Bruckman and Jose Chung and all the other episodes I adored. I even want to re-watch the unfortunate beige period.
I see you can get them pretty cheap used on Amazon. I'll be adding some seasons to my wish list, that's for sure.
I really need a Scully icon.
ETA: I has one.

Feb. 18th, 2008 10:02 pmI watched Buffy today. Much of Season 7 - including the last episode, through which I sniffled like a big baby. I love that show so much.
*sniffs* I still love Spike, dammit. I wish he'd truly died, though, and not come back on Angel.
I also love Buffy herself even more than I did when the show was on. And Anya and Andrew and Giles. Love with great love.
Sigh...
And now after a weekend of much sloth and joy, I go back to my regularly scheduled programming.

Feb. 1st, 2008 07:26 amI am full of tiny hearts today.
Lost was excellent. Full of excellence and scary and "OH MY GOSH NO!" moments - I forget that it's the only show - the only one - that consistently gives me moments of AIEEE DON"T GO IN THE JUNGLE, CANNOT WATCH AIEEE! I'm glad I have seven more new episodes to look forward to.
Supernatural made me happy, too. I love my show. I thought last night's episode was incredibly interesting and covered a topic I hoped we'd see at some point. More, more, more!
And now I go for my last day on the old job. Woo hoo. Tiny hearts all over the place.

Jan. 21st, 2008 08:07 pmGeek out!
I'm watching Life Without People on the History Channel. It's kinda creepy to see how quickly nature can take over. Very apocalyptic, whee! Human culture, especially our modern one, is so transitory. Makes me want to re-read The Stand.
After this, we're watching an episode of Pole to Pole with Michael Palin, one of our very favorite series ever. I bought Around the World in 80 Days, Palin's first travel adventure, for P's birthday this year. We love Michael Palin travel documentaries at this house.
They're showing ads on the History Channel for the new season of Cities of the Underworld - big surprise I like this show, eh? Who needs reality TV when we have cool documentary shows?
In Summation: I will miss new episodes of my very favorite shows. However, I will have plenty to watch. Strike on, writers, strike on.

Jan. 18th, 2008 08:05 pmHoly cow, it is snowing like crazy here! The visibility is so bad the neighbor's porch lights are dim and fuzzy.
This wasn't in the forecast.
*giggles*
Also, Croup and Vandemar are on Moonlighting. This amuses me. I love this show. It's way more fun to watch with teenagers who squee over Mick. I'll squee over Josef, thanks.

Jun. 9th, 2007 05:04 pmYesterday we helped with the annual neighborhood cleanup. This involved pulling lots of weeds and picking up trash. As a result, my sinuses and my body said "Whoa Nelly!" today, and I have been slothing on the couch all day.
It is a lovely place to sloth.
I also caught up on three weeks' worth of Dr. Who. Family of Blood? Oh wow. Tears. Crying. What a brilliant episode. Now I just have this week's to watch. I love my Dr.
I also love my brand new Tom mood theme, what I have wanted to make for a couple of years now. La!
