Feb. 1st, 2004 10:57 amRPS... Never really liked the idea of it. it kind of squicked me because, hello - real people, not characters! But even as I waded gently into the Seas of Slash with
lanning's wonderful Clark/lex series, I have now descended into the special hell that is Billy/Dom. Damn, it though, it's practically canon! Mostly I was broken by this excellent story written by [Bad username or site: circe tigana @ livejournal.com],
fitofpique, and
anniesj. It's called Brinkmanship and it's... gah. Just right.
The flames burn so prettily....
On a less pervy note, I now have Dreamweaver installed on my computer and I actually started building my boring professional online portfolio for school. I haven't done much with it, but dude, I'm using Dreamweaver!
I'm also attempting to apply design principles to my personal site I started last summer. You know, so that it doesn't suck entirely ;) So far, so good, but I envision some things I don't know how to do yet. This is very exciting. the idea of web design has been one I flirted with, but I never thought it would be a possible thing for me to do. Maybe if the economy gets better, I could finagle my way into a position that includes design. I would like that.

Date: 2004-02-01 06:54 pm (UTC)Cate Blanchett is currently working on a movie called "The Aviator", in which she plays Katharine Hepburn. The way Scorsese told her to look at it is "You're not playing Katharine Hepburn. You're playing a character who happens to be named Katharine Hepburn." That's the way I've always kinda looked at RPS.
Interestingly, I know, via a mutual friend, of someone who has no problem with and actively writes LotRPS, but will fight against LotRFPS for England -- the way she sees it, the cast are just a bunch of dumb, egotistical actors, but Tolkien's words are sacrosanct.
*shrug* Just some random thoughts from someone firmly planted in the pro-LotRPS camp. *grin*
