It just welled up a bit. We took the cats to the vet yesterday for their shots. Pig is a growly, talkative cat at the vet - she keeps up a running commentary throughout the exam, but she's very compliant and doesn't lash out. Jordan, on the other hand, required an orderly to attend with welding gloves and a thick towel. And even then she managed to swipe the vet - luckily, no skin was broken. Mine was though, when I tried to get her into the carrier to take her.

They have mostly forgiven us, but here are aftermath pictures:

The scratches aren't too bad, but they were kinda ouchy yesterday
She is now sitting on my lap being very cuddly. Poor baby, I think the shots made her feel yucky. We'll keep an eye on her.
She is also staying quiet today, but she is feeling better than Jordan, I think.
So anyway, that trauma is over, and no more shots for another three years. Phew!

Movie reviews!
I watched "The Magdalene Sisters" on DVD and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". The first was chilling and quite good, if hard to believe that situations like those the women of Ireland faced were real. You didn't want to believe they were real events, anyway. I recommend it. And I happily jump on the It was a very clever movie, which I appreciated. Jim Carrey never really showed the "Jim Carrey" he usually does. He was actually attractive in this movie, which is new for me ;) I liked that Elijah played a weasel - that was a good choice to show he can do more than sweet, noble characters. And I adored Kate Winslet. So hurray,it was an excellent movie!

It rained last night - a lot - and we so needed it. It is a lovely cloudy day today, and I get to try out wedding cakes with a friend who's planning her Big Day. Yum!

Quick sidenote: Would we know the friend with the Big Day? Enquiring minds, ya know. :-)
When I took the cats--alone--to the vet for their shots so they could be in the Cat Show, Nick (pictured in icon) was very unforgiving. He fought the eye and ear cleaning so bad, they put him in the "cat bag," a kitty straightjacket that only leaves the head exposed.
We now want one if we ever hope to brush their teeth. (They have a genetic predisposition to gum disease.)
I hope yours have recovered and forgotten. ;-)

So I thought, but had to make sure. Mmm, cake testing. Hard work, babe. ;-)
You can always pay some kid maybe to take the cats to the vet next time? Now there's an idea!
