On zombies and TV shows
Oct. 4th, 2015 08:14 pmFear of the Walking Dead had it's finale tonight and while there are some vague spoilers, under the cut, it's mostly
I rate the series a C. It was a much lower grade a while back, and I've freely admitted I don't watch either TWD or this spin-off for brilliant storytelling. I watch it because it's a fun, thrilling show with characters I love, or love to hate.
Unfortunately, I wasn't drawn into any of the characters until the past 3-4 episodes, and the two main characters are a little yawnsville, and that is a shame (the actors are fine and I hope for improvement!) But goddamnit, The-Addict-Who-Played-Tom-Riddle is probably going to have a redemptive arc and HOW CAN I NOT WATCH THAT? I ask you!
I am not interested in the main male character going into Rick Grimes-mode, because booooring.
So we'll see. The second season looks to be out on the water in a yacht, and that has a nice vibe of being very different, but we'll see.
Okay, main beef? And this is with TWD, too How is there a desolate road in Los Angeles in crisis? I don't buy the lack of people/zombies. Atlanta is a smaller city, and with the clusters of population of suburbs and small towns and small cities - there would be swarms all over. So L.A.? Wtf?
By the way, I have a new zombie flight zone - Salida, CO. Blocked on all sides by mountain passes/rough terrains/river and remote enough for not too many zombies drifting up the highways. Large enough to have decent supplies and a small population to deal with (if all turned), small enough to keep tucked away and quiet from the outside world. Ranching and farming communities could also be utilized for solar/wells/guns/etc.
I worry sometimes that I have two plans for a zombie apocalypse. But hey, better two plans than none?
