What I love most about this time of year are the lights, whether they are lights on a tree, the glow of candles, or the light of hope in stories. I share with you one of my favorite clips featuring a story of light in the darkness. It's from a Christmas episode of Northern Exposure, and it's the Raven story danced at the holiday celebration in the fictional town of Cicely, Alaska.

I am so glad I bought season 1 and 2 for P's Xmas present. I forgot how much I dearly love this show. Multicultural cast, strong female characters, strong elderly characters - the show might not have been perfect, but it did a whole lot right.
