PHEW, I was worried that people were upset by something, but no, it was cries of delight!
Oh, show. You made me happy. The opening fifteen minutes were pure skewering delight. "They know we're brothers, right?" "It doesn't seem to matter." And just the world weary way Sam says it? Yes.
So yes, there was much glorious tweaking, and the meta was faboo.
But then it turned into something more. Destiny. Fate. Not being able to escape from the path you're on. That was what this episode was really about. We've been seeing this build up for a while now, and there is no getting away from it.
I like Zachariah a lot, and I still very much appreciate these hard core, take no prisoner angels. Dude, it sucks to be a prophet. Poor Chuck.
It was also nice to see Sam and Dean being more like Sam and Dean than they've been in a while. Yay show!

Date: 2009-04-07 06:43 am (UTC)Unfortunately there are a large number of asshats who are making a stink and RUINING the brilliance and squee of this metatastic episode for the rest of us. I hope to god Kripke and the Boys and Everyone know we're not all batshit insane and really truly do appreciate the love.
