vivienHoly cow... I just watched Kings on Hulu. WOW. I am hooked.
So I was watching and enjoying, and I'd already planned on watching it when it comes on tonight. But then the scene on the steps between the king and his son happened, and I was like, "...Whoa. Wow. Okay then." I hadn't liked Jack Benjamin all that much until that moment, and then, well, I don't like him, but he is one thousand times more interesting. The way his face changed and crumpled when his father revealed he knew about his secret liaisons with men - that was some fine acting there.
The political intrigue in this is fabulous. From someone who grew up devouring the stories of kings and queens (along with all the fantasy and sci fi, natch), this show provides an excellent modernization of all the crazy stuff that went on in history.
