Wow, wow, wow.
That is by far the best episode so far. I really liked the vision of faeries, because it totally fits the stories.
A few thoughts on Jack and character development: He's a veteran of many battles. That kind of thing will get to you after a while.
I was surprised he told the truth about Estelle.
Oh, Estelle. The poor dear. The scene where Jack found her broke my heart, and it was so well-played by Barrowman.
I... would have turned that kid over way faster than Jack did. I mean, she was already gone, really.
This is a random thing that I noticed. I am terribly pleased that BBC shows actually feature normal sized women. In America, Jasmine's mum would have been a size 6. It was really refreshing to see an actress not meant to be anything but a normal person have a larger waistline.
LOVE THIS SHOW.
And yes, the icon was chosen on purpose.

Date: 2006-11-14 11:16 am (UTC)I just feel like... Well, why is she working for Torchwood if she's so emotional? What does she really contribute? It feels like she was added to the cast so we could join through her eyes and now there's nothing for her to do.
She comes across as a waste of space, and the writers way of shoving forward their points. Yes. That's what it is. I can feel the writers pushing through her far too easily. Just because she was the main female in episode one doesn't mean she has to be all the way through! Let Tosh do/say something!
