Wow.

Wow, wow, wow.

That is by far the best episode so far. I really liked the vision of faeries, because it totally fits the stories.

A few thoughts on Jack and character development: He's a veteran of many battles. That kind of thing will get to you after a while.

I was surprised he told the truth about Estelle.

Oh, Estelle. The poor dear. The scene where Jack found her broke my heart, and it was so well-played by Barrowman.

I... would have turned that kid over way faster than Jack did. I mean, she was already gone, really.

This is a random thing that I noticed. I am terribly pleased that BBC shows actually feature normal sized women. In America, Jasmine's mum would have been a size 6. It was really refreshing to see an actress not meant to be anything but a normal person have a larger waistline.

LOVE THIS SHOW.

And yes, the icon was chosen on purpose.

I honestly want to know why all the Gwen-hate.

She is EMOTIONAL WOMAN.

That is what she does.

And from what I recall, she is not precisely a brilliant and calculating cop, either.

*sigh*

It's not like we didn't know already she's probably object to Jack's actions.

I mean--that's who she IS.

*waves* I LIKE GWEN.

If I did not already play Rose I would pick her up as an RP puppet.

I may still.

I tried to like her, I really did.

I just feel like... Well, why is she working for Torchwood if she's so emotional? What does she really contribute? It feels like she was added to the cast so we could join through her eyes and now there's nothing for her to do.

She comes across as a waste of space, and the writers way of shoving forward their points. Yes. That's what it is. I can feel the writers pushing through her far too easily. Just because she was the main female in episode one doesn't mean she has to be all the way through! Let Tosh do/say something!

a) Totally with you on the wow. It's actually refreshing to have episodes where it's not all happy sunshine at the end. Brings back echos of the old-school DW.

b) I seriously want to know how Estelle fits in with the rest of Jack's history. I mean, he was in London, but he didn't act like someone madly in love then...

c) Estelle's mom was a fantastic casting choice.

d) I could totally see bar-Puck behaving like those fairies. This would be me then, bouncing in my seat the whole way through.

e) Estelle had one ungrateful cat, you know that?

Totally. And it sat there and watched, too. Clearly, one can't trust one's cat in cases of fairies.

Oh, god, I so agree. That was the first time I'd really got character bleed from Jack. Also, faries are wonderful anyway, and the evil fits the mythic...

*Squee!*
