So my thoughts on the
Now first of all, I saw The Matrix on DVD originally and thought it was pretty cool, but not that exciting. I saw it again on
silversapen's big ass tv a couple of months ago and liked it quite a bit. So I was excited about seeing the new movie. Even with my Canoe Reeves issues (while he is pretty to look at, he just shouldn't talk much)
I can't say I loved it, but I didn't hate it. Canoe talked a whole lot. Heck, everybody talked a whole lot. The Exposition Fairy was hard at work. The effects were indeed extremely cool, but there were too many of them. You know in Amadeus when the king tells Mozart there were just too many notes? That's how I felt, especially in the highway scene. I did like the movie, and I'll see it again on DVD and probably like it a whole lot more, but I wasn't blown away. Plus (and this sounds so, so lame) I am very confused by a lot of the Matrix concept. It's just not a fandom I find myself drawn into. But it was beautifully done and there was much pretty to look at. I really liked the Ghost Twins - they were cool. The Keymaker was an interesting character. I liked that you don't know whether the "obsolete programs" are on the side of good or not, and the twist of the One being a stock character in the Matrix was very cool. But still I would say go and see it. On the big screen.
By the way, I saw at one point a great LJ icon-gif with Agent Smith and the ghost twins, but the text read "Elladan and Elrohir, something somthing" referencing Hugo Weaving playing Elrond.
spicedrum was that one of yours? Does anyone know whose it is?
