This is from
mctabby via
mcamy's journal.
I have a story. It's called Regaining
It's about Hermione being poisoned by a potion that Snape designed in his Death Eater days. She loses most of her magical powers, and Snape's the only one who can help her regain them.
But really, deep down, it's all about setting up a future relationship for those two crazy kids. In the future. When she's not in school. Oh, and it's also all about how strong Hermione is even without full magic power to rely upon.
It might also appeal to readers who aren't afraid of het with no actual action
It has: brain research, science in the Wizarding world, Unspeakables, Harry and Ron being Supportive Friends, Snape despairing in a deliciously guitly way, a really cool room in Hogwarts, the East Tower, rehab, Magnifying Potions that require special Ministry approval, intensely unpleasant headaches, pain drops (peppermint flavor), and pink fuzzy slippers.
It doesn't have: smut, Time-Turners, spiders, any OC's that are more than minor characters, or more than passing references to Draco or Quidditch.
It is not a WiP.
If you read it, I'll be pleased that you took the time, since it took me so freakin' long to write.
If you don't read it, I'll cry and go sulk in my room. Actually, I won't mind a bit.
If you read it and review it, I'll write you back and thank you kindly for your response.
And by the way, it's written under the influence of too many Snape/Hermione fics at the time of writing, and especially Pawn to Queen (by the way, I used McAmy's answer here up to the "and especially")

Date: 2003-05-27 05:39 pm (UTC)Thank you so much for the kind words. And for even mentioning my story in the same sentence as PtQ, much less saying you liked it more. Did I mention the squeeing?
I am so almost ready to work on the sequel now. Getting that excited vibe going on - now I just need the time.
Thank you thank you thank you :P

Date: 2003-05-28 01:00 pm (UTC)I got through chapter three then apparently the site was experiencing an overload on chapter four! Hee! You must be popular!
I noticed some of the chapter headings in the text don't match the chapters in the drop down menu -- I want to be sure I read them in order.
I'm hooked! Your characterization is spot on. I may need you to send it to me in word or something so I can sneak more reading in at work!
