I know it sounds like a silly thing when compared to all the human suffering around the world, but I am really really upset by the news of the looting of the Bagdad Museum and Libraries. I guess its because I love libraries and history so much, and that region has the earliest of our history. The Hammurabai tablets -the first law tablets, gone. Extremely important papyrus, clat tablets, and artifacts from the first cities, likewise gone. Losing the treasures doesn't bother me as much as the loss of all this knowledge of day to day life and clues to the workings of the earliest societies. It's just very sad, like the burning of the library of Alexandria. So senseless.
Now for petty distraction. Cos dude, so depressing.

1. When I was a kid, I used to always get Strep Throat. I seemed to get it every year. Are there any illnesses that you seem more susceptible to than others?
Colds and then chest colds grab me easiest. I also get larygitis a couple of times a year due to allergy freak outs.
2. A recent poll stated that "Michael" and "Ashley" are the number one baby names in New York. (However, in Oklahoma it seems like there are two or three girls named "Madison" everywhere you go). What are your favorite boy and girl names?
Girls: Claire, Vivien, Helen, Celeste, Morgan, Rhiannon, Muriel
Boys: Zachary, Ian, Brady, Keegan, Alexander
What names do you think are trendy or overused?
Dakota is one of the doofiest names, IMHO. Michelle, Jennifer, and Michael are way too common.
If you have children, would you give them the same name if you had another chance?
Alas, no little cherubs. But if I had a girl, she'd be Claire Helena, and a boy would be Ian Lennon.
3. Any current songs on the radio (or elsewhere) that you think are pure crap? Why don't you like it?
All of it. Seriously. Radio, for the most part, bites.
4. I used to play the trumpet in High School. I was never very good and always seemed to be last chair. I tried to play it again last week and it was a pretty sad sight. Can you (now or in your youth) play any musical instruments? Do you still play?
I played cornet in junior high. I have it in my closet now. I should clean it all up, but I never seem to get around to it.
5. What is the most recent self-improvement program (fitness, weight loss, learning something new) that you began? Did you stick with it? Why or why not?
I joined the Y in summer and got to work outs about twice a week. Then school started again and my new job didn't pay enough for me to continue as a member.
6. How would you look in a Hooters uniform?
- provided by Hootress
Short and squat.
7. Have you ever had a dream where you interacted with a celebrity (sex or otherwise)? What happened?
provided by Kat Lively
I know I have, but I don't remember any off hand.
BONUS: Do you believe in love, do you believe it's true?
Blah, Huey Lewis. The hooks stay in your head for days....

I guess I'm also very much in love with anything history.
