Jun. 29th, 2004 01:15 pmAh yes, new Cure cd today, and it is fabulous. It is more intense and driving than the past few - Snorri and I were saying it hearkens back to the darker songs on Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, with a hint of the atmosphere of Disintegration. Musically, the percussion has kicked up a notch and the bass is almost the focus of many songs. Hurray Simon! Robert's lyrics are nicely angsty - no cute, sweet songs this time out. We are enjoying it muchly, and even found the secret website through the enhanced cd.
Why did I never even hear of The Dark Is Rising as a kid? I am three pages in and I am hooked on the language and suspense already. Seriously though, I read every other supernatural/fantasy novel as a kid, especially if it was set in England. I am very confused about how the heck I missed this one.
Writing is coming along very, very nicely. Giggle.
