I was very sad to hear the news of Mr. Rogers passing today. I grew up watching him and Captain Kangaroo, and as a teacher, I have found his books for children invaluable for talking to kiddos about scary things like going to the hospital and moving away. He was quiet and calm, and his show was not edited to within an inch of its life. He was a gentle soul who truly cared about children. I will miss him.
