My mom is gone. This makes me sad...

Also, I had heard of the tsunami news, but we'd not spent much time watching news. I'm now watching CNN. This is so... unreal, I guess, is the word I'm looking for. All those people - all those children... But you know what peeves me? I see the story on the Finnish boy who was found with no adults with him, and there was much fuss and reporting. How many little brown-skinned children are wandering around, lost and looking for their adults who are now swept away?

Sigh...

I'd read and rec some Yuletide Treasures, but I think that's going to have to wait till tomorrow.

It's a horrible thing, all of that loss, and so many of them children. They say that the kids were rushing to the shoreline to gather up the fish that were left behind as the tide rushed back - just to get some food for supper kinda thing. And as a result so many of them were at the most dangerous spot to be in when the water came back.

I can't believe how awful it is. I've been avoiding the news on it and I sure don't want to see the pictures, but on the radio this morning I heard the President say some kind words about the disasters but then he ruined it by singling out the Americans who had lost loved ones. He couldn't even say something like "the people around the world, including many of our own, who..."

Grrr. Stupid centrism.
