Sep. 18th, 2004 07:59 pmHappy Birthday,
isiscolo! I hope you're enjoying this gorgeous weather doing something fun!
Everyone go see "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow". NOW! It is a terrific homage to every fantasy/scifi movie made in black and white or early color. Jude Law is... Um, can I have him for Christmas? I mean, really, can I? Angelina Jolie is also great, but I wish she'd been on screen a bit more. Giovanni Rabisi is the real hero - the science nerd who makes things happen. And Gwyneth Paltrow isn't as annoying as she usually is! The story is very 1930's/40's complete with intentional plot holes, and the whole tone is just... lovely. Except for the parts with scary robots. Which were just... cool. Go see it!
I am proud to announce that I bought a pair of size 8 pants today. I'm not sure I love them, but I was peer pressured into getting them :P I think they are just too hip for me, plus I need the adorable high heeled pumps I was trying on for fun to wear with them, and we all know how practical adorable high heeled pumps are. I also tried on a Betsy Johnson frou frou dress at Neiman Marcus on a dare and loffed it! It was a retro, bright pink, ruffled 50's style cocktail dress and wow... I felt the loff. And then I saw the price tag and sadly put it back on the rack.
So. Now I want cute shoes. And more size 8 things. Or size 10 - that's more where I think I am right now. But wheeeee! After being a size 14 for so long, this is pretty damn cool. Except for the part where none of my winter clothes are going to fit. Drat. Stoopid budget.
