It's fall!
Sep. 15th, 2004 09:20 pmThe leaves are turning, and I need a sweatshirt to sit in the living room, which has the loveliest breeze coming in. I love fall. I'm getting excited about Halloween, which is always a good sign. The years I don't get excited are usually downer years. I can't decide what to be though... Any suggestions?
In my work school life, the children are settling in and getting noisier and naughtier, as they are wont to do. I am cracking the whip in the kind and firm way I have, but woe. Plus, due to the Evil One's incompetence, we are off to an extremely disorganized and chaotic start. *rages at Evil One*
In my grad school life, I am planning web sites like a crazy woman, and I learned a much cooler way to slice buttons and headings from Fireworks to Dreamweaver. I am very excited about this, since the way I learned to slice before was insanely complicated and made me cry. OH, and in the independent study class where we're working on the web based training for the National Parks Service, two of the colors I used in design mock-ups were picked as official design colors. Squee! The green is referred to as "Michelle green" by the professor. This wouldn't be so impressive if we didn't have a graphic designer and two professional instructional designers in our group. Hee!
silveraspen loaned me the Last Herald-Mage series of Valdemar books. So far I like muchly (I'm not too far in, but it has passed my initial "I won't read this cos it's too derivative of Tolkien" test. I wish I had more time to read...
Snorri ordered the end of season baseball package from Comcast. Eight channels of games until Oct. 3. More time for me to goof around on the computer with no guilt!
And next week are the season premiers of shows already... I am underwhelmed. Well, except for Lost. I think that is going to be a worthwhile show. And Smallville, of course, which I will watch for the lexy goodness.
