Ah, I slept like a log last night. Mostly because I could once again breathe through my nose. However I must say thank you, codeine laden cough syrup! I am still low energy girl - I did get a bit of homework stuff done, but not the laundry. Oh well.

I'm going to meet up with folks to see RotK on the Imax screen today. I'm looking forward to it, since I just now finished rereading LotR again. And I mean rereading - I even read all the poems and songs that as a young 'un I tended to skip ;)

I saw Hidalgo yesterday.
I thought overall it was a good movie, if not brilliant. It was a bit too long - I thought the whole "rescue the girl" part was unnecessary. Viggo was amazing - he is a fabulous actor. I noticed at the beginning when he was speaking Lakota that he was not very fluent sounding - kind of stilted - and I thought "huh, I thought he was better at languages than that." But then in the desert when he has the vision and reclaims his heritage, there came the fluent Lakota. That was pretty brilliant in a subtle way. The horse was also great, and man, you can tell they had a great working relationship. So I would recommend it. It was a very beautiful movie, and it had a good message and great acting.

I made the new icon during my "awake due to nose failure" stretch between 1:30am - 3:30am. It makes me giggle.

Glad you are feeling better and sorry I blew it on ROTK -- I had the times confused and was doing other thingss, etc., then got Aspen's message and realized I had totally blown it. Blah.

Re: yesterday, however, I got the scoop on the scene at D&Bs and it turned out that spouse did nothing bad at all. While we were at the table he went to a waitress and asked if we could have that booth. She said sure and that she would get it cleaned up for us. Then spouse came back and hovered over us and that's when he said "There's a man hovering over you" instead of something helpful like "I have information." So naturally we did not respond to that, being that none of us give a crap if there's a man hovering over us or not. Anyhoo, while waitress was cleaning up specifically for us, that family came over to hover at the booth. So spouse went over while waitress was telling them it was for us and told them that they could take it, being that they had a kid and all, and that we could keep the table. But they refused, and there was a booth on the other side getting cleaned by then too, so they said they'd take that one. And all was well with the land, except that the three of us thought he had gone snarling over there with no justification and no prior claim and driven the poor little family away. Ooops. I am a bad wife, assuming things like that about spouse. I deserve a spanking. Maybe I'll get one.

I'll put my Hidalgo thoughts in my LJ.

Um, oopsie. :) Oh well -- we all had the same perception, and so I think it was a communication failure on everyone's part. It all worked out in the end, yes?
