Before my rant, let me say HAPPY BIRTHDAY flourish!!!!! I hope you had a wonderful wonderful day.

My students nearly succeeded in driving me mad today. My morning class seemed to be comprised of children who had never actually attended school before. I got so tired of hearing that long, drawn-out, high pitched "Teeeeacher" or "Miss Micheeeeeellle". *shudder* those words will haunt my nightmares. Plus all of the morning kids were actually there and they were all extra specially needy. One girl broke her new glasses. Kinda on purpose. A trio of boys (two with the coool already and one without, though he desperately tries way to hard) were bickering over who got to play with who, who got to sit by who.

Afternoon kids did not all show up - this is always a good thing - but they were no better. New little voices saying "Teeeeeacher, she bumped the table" or "Are we going outside?" asked repeatedly until I just started saying no, we aren't. And then we noticed one kid had ringworm. EWWWWWWW! But I'd rather deal with ringworm than lice. Icky icky icky.

Thank goodness for Girls Club and new Smallville/Angel and adult conversation tonight!

I may regret asking this, but what is ringworm, exactly?

How odd. I happen to have just heard a whole thing on ringworm. It isn't a worm. It's a fungus, like athelete's foot, but makes little rings that look wormu.

Not to mention scabies. Ringworm is WAAAAAAAAAY easier to get rid of than scabies. Or lice. Shudder.

I made it thru 4 years, and only had 2 cases of ringworm, 3 cases of scabies, no lice, and only one chicken pox outbreak. Oh and we had one case of scarlett fever.

And tho I'm not Ms Viv - ringworm is a fungal infection that looks like a scaby circle with a raised outline. It starts out as a festering pimple. OH and when you get it on your foot, it's known as Athlete's Foot.

Seriously, was it hard to switch gears when you recareered? I think I will miss some things, but I kinda look forward to the quiet of a grown up office environment. I think.

It was weird honestly. I mean I did two years of school before recareering, so that eased the transition. I have discovered tho that when it comes to computers adults can be on par with a cranky 3 year old. Esp. when they've lost access to the internet. ;)
