Halloween Costume Countdown - Day 2

I do remember - very clearly - one Halloween costume from childhood. My mom made me an angel costume - simple white dress, posterboard wings, and a wire and tinsel halo. Back when I was a kid (and this was about 1976-77), the only costumes you could buy were these scary kinds of plastic ones with masks that never stayed on (and smelled weird). So either you had someone make a costume for you, or you were out of luck.
I remember seeing this costume at the drugstore:

Because you had to, you know, have who you were clearly stated on the easily ripped plastic of the costume.
Here's another one:

Would you put your child in these horrors? Thankfully Mom didn't (but most likely because she couldn't afford it... hurray!)
So I was an angel much like this. This might even be the pattern she used!

Much better.
