I think I'm off on my numbering... Thursday, Friday - yes, two more days until Halloween itself.
I'm using my vampire brides icon in honor of my favorite kind of monster - vampires.
From True Blood to Buffy to The Hunger to Nosferatu, I love them all. I've never been much of a werewolf or zombie fan, but I've always loved the vampire. I remember being very little - maybe just barely four - and being chased around the house by a cousin imitating a vampire with the hissing and the teeth. It was while the 1930s version was playing on the black and white TV; I remember watching the scene where one of the brides gets the Host or a cross burned on her forehead. I wasn't afraid then. I was fascinated.
I've been rereading The Vampire Lestat which, unfortunately, has not held up as well for me as I thought it would. I still have a place for it in my heart, as I do for my favorite vampire-centric series, the Count St. Germain historical novels by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro. When it comes to movies, I enjoy The Hunger and Nosferatu quite a bit. They are creepifying in the most delightful ways.
Rambling about vampires - Tired!Viv's favorite thing to do.
