The funniest AIM with a Mom evah!
Aug. 5th, 2003 08:08 amMy mom is cool, and she just finished OotP. Very funny, at times bawdy, conversation follows from this morning's AIM:
JoJo727me: I just finished Harry Potter
Vivien529: OOOH! How'd you like it?
JoJo727me: When will the NEXT ONE be!?!
Vivien529: Ha ha ha - that's what Jen and I said!
JoJo727me: I loved it, and loved your notes. Sorry you have a mean principal
JoJo727me: Dumbledore threw me. I thought something weird was happening
Vivien529: Well, she's not a prinicpal - she's an insane education director and thankfully she's not at my site. I see her rarely, but her presence is known by her evil at all times ;)
JoJo727me: Snape is just Snape of course, but he made me wonder a lot
Vivien529: Well, I figured D. was avoiding Harry for a reason.
Yes, Snape needs some counseling I think. Let it go, Sev, let it go. :)
JoJo727me: Neville Longbottom sure came in as a winner
Vivien529: How about "doing a Weasley" - those twins are my heroes.
You're right - Neville is the true hero of the piece. So glad to see him finally shine.
JoJo727me: When are Harry and Hermione going to get together, you think?
JoJo727me: Weird that he and Harry are both Leos. Hum hum
JoJo727me: He meaning Neville
Vivien529: Ha ha, Mom's a H/Hr shipper! I don't know. Conventional wisdom leans towards Hermione/Ron.
I'm not sure - the romance was decidedly downplayed in this one.
You mean, hem hem?
Vivien529: But Ron was much less a twit in this book so I liked him a great deal.
JoJo727me: Conventional wisdom be damned. I want Harry and Hermione to produce a fanciful great wizard
Vivien529: Oh, you are cracking me up!
Vivien529: How about Sirius's death - were you surprised?
JoJo727me: I am going to read it again before I send it back. You know how I race through a book when I am crazed with learning the end. It broke my heart for Sirius to die - can't he come back?
Vivien529: Not in anyway we know of yet - but the curtain is something I figure will come up again.
Vivien529: You know, I knew that a death was going to happen - I was so worried about Mr. Weasley.
JoJo727me: Harry is now a young adolescent and the last chapter does say the Second War. I was worred about Mr. Weasley too
Vivien529: Then when Sirius died it was so quick I was like, oh, wow.
JoJo727me: Mrs. McG sure got a stunner. I worry about her
Vivien529: Funnily enough when Minerva was Stunned, I had no worries. She was great in this book.
JoJo727me: What do you think will happen in the next book?
Vivien529: Or Ms. McG - we don't know her history yet.
How about that Hermione - she was a wee bit scary when dealing with Rita. I like it!
Vivien529: I don't know. I really don't. More people will die. That's all I really know.
JoJo727me: I saw from your note that you did!
JoJo727me: The giant is going to play a role in the next book. How about the woman who only gave one good prophecy in her life?
Vivien529: I also think work will begin on a final stategy to beat Voldemort. I hope we see either Remus or Moody take over as DADA teacher
JoJo727me: The twins could come back and teach, whot?
JoJo727me: How come you ignore that Harry and Neville are Leos?
Vivien529: Two good prophecies - she might eke another out. Firenze might be agood influence on her. ;)
Yes, the giants will show up. No, I think the twins will be chillin in their new premises, working for the Order. I doubt they'll set foot in school again
Vivien529: Didin't ignore - just didn't address it yet, Ms July 27th birthday
JoJo727me: Ooh Firenze and those others sounded kind of yummy too
Vivien529: Oh, mom - you are funny! Yeah, he's kinda cute for a guy with four legs and hooves.
JoJo727me: Wouldn't GMA die if I had hoof prints in the bed?
Vivien529: MOM!!!!!
JoJo727me: What???
Vivien529: You are so naughty!
JoJo727me: Me??
Vivien529: (rolls eyes)
JoJo727me: Don't want to see a waste of good manflesh or horseflesh
JoJo727me: They might need to be curried
Vivien529: Well, I'm so glad you liked the book - keep it as long as you need to. We have an extra copy.
JoJo727me: I loved it. Long it might be, boring never!!1
Vivien529: Ok, you're at work, AT A CHURCH, missy. Reign it in - ha ha ha
JoJo727me: Do you think the four houses will stand?
JoJo727me: I would like of course to drown all Slitherins and put a cork on top of the drowning site
Vivien529: Yes. There will always be divisions.
Hey! Despite the portrayal of certain Slytherins, there have to be some who are not evil. I'd like to meet one that's not in Malfoy mode. Severus isn't evil - he's doing really good things. He just has some serious people skill challenges.
JoJo727me: All Sltherins have serious people skill challenges
Vivien529: Being clever, ambitious, and wanting the best does not make one evil!
Vivien529: Well, the ones we've met anyway.
JoJo727me: Not if they wouldn't choke their own mothers to get what they want
Vivien529: Well, there is that ;)
JoJo727me: Who's being naughty now???
Vivien529: I have a soft spot for tall, dark, and evil, Mom - you know that :P
JoJo727me: Uh Oh, the troops are marching in. I've got to check what's left of my bank account. So I will finish drooling over the characters with you later
Vivien529: I'll call you and we'll chat!!!!
Awwww, my mom's a H/HR shipper! So cute. But she doesn't get the Slytherins. Alas. I had left her a copy of the book with sticky notes interspersed throughout telling her my favorite parts and observations. She's a cool mom. Haven't brought up Remus/Sirius yet - that may be one I leave quiet. :)

Cool! About the friending ;)
Yeah, those wacky moms. Mine was suggesting during a phone conversation the other night that Firenze/Sibyl would be f un combo. I told her she was scary. She also admitted to having a crush on Hagrid. Sigh... she's such a Gryffindor.
