OOOOH, I miss my husband, my TNGC, my LJ friends, and using a semi-fast computer anytime I want to! My vacation has been nice (except for my grandmother and her mood swings between bitterness and downright spite - not directed at me, thankfully, but extremely unpleasant nonetheless)
Yeah, so I realized that my grandmother is very much like Kreacher - she walks around saying mean things to herself that she means for everyone to hear. Usually about my mom (who takes care of her). It's lots of fun! Woohoo! But other than that, we are off shopping and giggling everyday, and that's been nice. Celebrated my mom's bday today, and I lent her my copy of OotP - with a sticky note about Kreacher reminding me of someone. She will laugh pretty hard, I think.
We went to see Pirates (my third time) and even grumpy gma liked it. Has anyone ever noticed in the scene where Jack and Barbossa are fighting, right before Jack throws his medallion in, I thought I saw him slash his palm with the sword first. I just may have to see it once more to make sure ;) Am I on crack? If not, why would he do this? It could be as simple as the last person who takes a medallion has to be the one whose blood seals it - it never really says why Bill Turner's blood was needed. Hmmm. Speaking of Bill - he was cursed when he was weighed down with the canon and drowned, yes? So he wouldn't die - he'd just have to get loose of the canon. Ooh, hurry up sequel!
I also happened to see an X-File last night - the Millenium crossover. It was good! I don't remember it being good. I really enjoyed it. And Scully looked fabulous. And the kiss? I was schmooped.
Well, I'll be home Saturday and then I'll try to catch up with all the Nimbus wrap ups and other news from you entertaining folks. Till then..

Date: 2003-07-24 08:19 pm (UTC)Because my mytharc-rationalizing brain Won't. Shut. Up. -- I was thinking about it, and the curse was supposed to be on the Pearl and crew for 10 years, right? Basically from about when Little! Will sailed overseas until the movie present-day setting? In that case, it's not only possible that Bootstrap got free of the cannon, it's plausible.
Cannons and chains o'the time were made with a high content of iron, I believe, and iron (and much steel too, for that matter) rusts like CRAZY when salt water is involved, even if we're just talking salt spray by the sea. When you consider total immersion, well... yea.
When IS that sequel due out, anyway? :)
