You guys...

I watched the pilot for The X-Files and then Beyond the Sea tonight. It's only taken me eight years to get past my seething disappoint about what happened to my one time favorite show, but oh WOW, do I love The X-Files again. I want to see Bad Blood and mytharc and Scully lying about being fine and Mulder sticking his fingers in potentially dangerous goo and porno nurse kicks and Clyde Bruckman and Jose Chung and all the other episodes I adored. I even want to re-watch the unfortunate beige period.

I see you can get them pretty cheap used on Amazon. I'll be adding some seasons to my wish list, that's for sure.

I really need a Scully icon.

I have all 9 seasons on DVD (bought by watching the slim sets on Amazon on my wishlist...for about $25 each, over a few months), and have rewatched all through about the first quarter of S8. I totally fell in LOVE all over again. <3

I'll probably do a spot rewatch of S1-7 and all of S8 and try to get through S9 for the first time (except for the finale, which I did watch when it aired. And I wept like a child) before the movie comes out in July.

I definitely want 1-6. I am ambivalent about 7-9. Them's was bad times for this fan. We'll see, though.

WORD. I got the first three seasons a while back (reminds me, I still have episodes to watch!) and re-watching the show, I was reminded of just why I loved it. I was especially reminded of how Scully was so incredibly kickass for a female character and the wonderful relationship she and Mulder had.

It's so nice to re-watch a show after so many years that you loved when (in my case) you were a teenager and still have it be so good, 15 years later. I was kind of wondering if it was going to stand up to the test of time and whether I'd love it as much as I did, worried that I wouldn't. I shouldn't have worried. :D

I should add that I only saw up to the end of about season 6 or so, as after that I was at university with no cable and crappy antenna reception in our dorm. Though I have to admit, I didn't really miss it that much.

I picked up the whole box set (Season 1-9, movie 1) about a month ago! I soooo love this show. It is the truly amazing and awesome. (....even if I haven't gotten to open it yet!!)

I've been doing my own rewatch project recently and it's amazing how well the early episodes still hold up. It's like spending time with an old friend I haven't seen in years.

I'm a little nervous about proceeding into the six-ninth seasons, but at least this time I'm prepared for the long, slow downslide into suck, right?

I keep finding it on tv and going oh yes, X-Files is so utterly good. I'd forgotten how wonderful the chemistry is between Scully and Mulder, they just really make the show so much.

It is a good show despite the lameness of the last two seasons (IMHO)... I can't think of any show that was good for a long time (9 years!) without having some terrible episodes/arcs.

Anyhow, it's totally worth the love, even if some of the clunkers still clunk. :)
