A quick note before Monday
Jun. 30th, 2003 08:02 amBleh, only four more days of trying to stay busy when there's nothing to do, and then I will be on vacation for a month. I miss my long summers... wah!
I saw Finding Nemo yesterday and wow, I was just not impressed. I loved the Toy Story movies - thought they were really cute. Monsters Inc was quite frankly a wonderful, wonderful movie. This one was very pretty to look at, and there were definitely some fun moments, but it just didn't seem to click.
Oh well.
I also watched on DVD yesterday The English Patient. Cried and sniffled and swooned as usual. That is such a beautiful movie, both in cinematography, story, and actors.
Annnnd, I actually got some work done on Endings and Beginnings, ch 3 and a Petunia ficlet that's been rolling around my brain. Go me.

I also saw Finding Nemo this weekend. The whole family went--meaning my parents, sister, husband, and me. I thought it was cute. Loved the turtle--Dude! But other than that, it certainly wasn't Monsters, Inc. or Shrek.
I yearn for a month long vacation.

I am very lucky. It is a total trade off - lousy pay and benefits for blessed time away from job. That's why teaching is such a competitive field - who else gets so much time off? I will miss it when I move to the real world of two week vacations, but man, am I hoping to find a situation with better pay and better benfits ;)

Teaching
Date: 2003-07-02 07:05 am (UTC)It's totally worth it. Right now I'm not in the public schools - if I were I wouldn't be kvetching. If you find a good district, then you are treated very well AND you have the glorious vacation days. I've just been at it for ten years, and I'm ready for a change. :)
