Sweey Kate
Jun. 29th, 2003 10:42 pmKatharine Hepburn has left us, and I will miss her.
When I was junior in high school, I played Eleanor of Aquitaine in "The Lion in Winter" - the same part Katharine played. I got laryngitis right before the production, and when I was able to speak, I had this husky thing going on. Everyone said I sounded just like her, and I thought that was the best compliment I would ever get as an actor.
She was an independent, talented, and intelligent woman, and a wonderful role model for actors of every age and gender. I'll be watching "African Queen" and "Lion in Winter" tomorrow evening to mark her passing.
