Needing hugs, but no more chocolate
Jun. 2nd, 2003 09:10 pmThis weekend was so wonderful. Yesterday's hihg tea and girlie happenings was so immensely wonderful. And then Monday happened. I had an itnerview scheduled for tomorrow. The principla called and left a message with my husband - not even trying to personally contact me - cancelling it. She'd talked to my previous principals and decided I wasn't enough of a team player to bother interviewing. This has never happened before. I'm really shocked and dismayed. But what can I do? I am dropping the older of the references off my list altogether because I did have trouble at that school with my team of very unpleasant teachers. But my last job, I can't believe my former boss would say that. Teaming with my colleagues weas a big strength, I thought. I was told that former principal also played up my strengths at least. So depressing. It really hurts and makes me afraid. And after such a happy weekend, it makes it that much worse. Suck, suck, suckity suck, with a side of "Fuck you, bitch!!!!!"
So now I'm retreating to something fun from
slytherincess:

(3)If you can find them, try and track down the following 80's bands, you might like them: Dali's Car, Teardrop Explodes, and Tones on Tail. (You might also try The Jazz Butcher Conspiracy.. but you might want to just stick with their '80s material.)
James.

Could you request 30 minutes with the last principal you worked with and ask to be told what it is that was so concerning? That way, when you go into an interview, and they ask you (because they always do!) you might be able to offer the following: "Well, yes, I've worked hard at X,Y,Z, and here's the things I've done/am doing to increase my skills in this area."
Nonetheless, that just sucks. I'm now off to read your MeMe.

Date: 2003-06-03 03:56 pm (UTC)I do plan on contacting my old principal and finding out what she is saying about me. And I also thought I'd bring copies of my summative evaluation for interviewers from now on so they can see what was actually praised in writing.
Stupid principals.
WTF?!?!?
Date: 2003-06-04 01:58 pm (UTC)That is totally effing BULLSHIT and I hope you know it. You are beautiful and wonderful and totally right that teamwork is a strength. whoever said different is FULL OF CRAP.
