I finally got a chance to watch both Torchwood episodes.



I think it was Caleb (ETA - it was viridian)who made the analogy of Dr. Who-Torchwood to Buffy-Angel. It was one of you lovely people; forgive me for not remembering.

I concur with this. Same 'verse, but darker elements. I even like the Hellmouth-esque explanation of the space/time riff. I was impressed with the writing, as well as with the overall look of the show. The open sexuality is eye-opening, but kinda cool in a non-hubba hubba way.

I adore Jack Harkness and I want more more more. Such a charismatic character!!! I definitely want Gwen to be developed into more of the policewoman she is, though.

After watching "Hex" season 1 this summer, I was rather dismayed about the lack of continuity or lack of character development. It was fun and all, but I could easily see how more episodes in the season could have made a HUGE difference.
I thought it was very rushed, trying to pack too much into the 10 episode run.

So I'll be interested in seeing whether Torchwood can manage a plot arc and character development in 13. I am hoping; it has a lot of potential.

And ohgod, yes, the Jack love. NO END to the Jack love. Suddenly very glad I play Rose in Milliways and that we have a lovely Jack there. *g*
