Jun. 27th, 2005 06:49 pmWow, that was a shiny trip. I had lots of fun in Vegas, and I did more walking than I thought possible. I swear - Vegas is all about walking. And the shiny bling bling. It was fun shiny bling bling, though.
The highlight and lowlight of the trip was the Star Trek Experience - something I'd wanted to do for ages. I was sorely disappointed that the Wrap of Khaaaaan was no longer on the menu. Perhaps the waitstaff tired of people ordering it in the exuberant way I had. However, the Warp Core Breach goldfish bowl drink we all shared made up for that.
The Borg Invasion in 4D was the first attraction we went on. Thank goodness. It had a really cool film with effects like pokes in the back when the Borg implants were "inserted" and it was pretty groovy. The Klingon Encounter was the next one, and that's the one in which Aspen was declared Picard's ancestor as a result of me calling her name to join us as we'd been seperated. Then the ride started - a shuttlecraft flying experience that made me motion sick liek whoa... OMG I was so sick. I was closing my eyes as my ears began to throb and my whole body began alternating between hot and cold sweats. The worst part was it was so freaking cool!!! And I would have loved it had my body not rebelled. I didn't feel all the way better till today - and we went on the ride Saturday afternoon. Waily, waily.
I gambled $3 and lost it all. Gambling vexes me. Shopping does not, but I was very good. I bought a Borg tshirt (really cute and fitted), a pyramid frame from Luxor, two plush snakes that are sooo cute (I had to, I just had to), and an Egyptian cat shaped incense burner (the smoke comes out the ears).
I had massive amounts of fun meeting the people who had decided to join us for Vegas fun. As Aspen has also stated, this was nothing super organized. This was more of a "Oh hey, you could come on this weekend? Cool!" So yeah, it was nothing official or exclusive.
Now back to work and school, the combination of which is poised to kick my ass. However, once I get my portfolio done, my Psych class interview done, and a large chunk of the research paper done for my Wed. class by this weekend, I will, for the first time in two years, be nearly done with homework forever. I hope I don't run out of undies, cos the laundry ain't getting done till the weekend. Well, maybe Thursday.
OH! AND we saw "Batman Begins" which was unbelievably good. Now that's what a superhero movie should be. I adored the acting, the look of the film, and moreover, the incredible story.
