May. 2nd, 2005 08:02 pmHoo boy.
People are nice. Work day is long (I used to work 7:45 - 4:10/15; now it's going to be 8-5). Work is challenging but not horrible. Boss is awesome.
I think I'm in culture shock though. This is my first office job, and I'm sure I will get used to things. Nothing is bad; don't get me wrong. I'm in PMS mode, plus change mode, which for me is always stressful. I guess I'm a little griefridden over saying goodbye to my glorious time off - summer and spring break and all. It sucks that I have to be the one to make the money. Oh boo hoo, woe is me. Suck it up, Viv.
It doesn't help that my back is killing me from sitting in a chair most of the day. Even with ergonomics in full effect, I am all owie. Stupid back.
OH, and irony of ironies? All blog sites and on-line mail sites are blocked. HAHAHAHA, so I won't have to worry about being tempted by the evil internet.
I guess right now things seem new like an uncomfortable new shoe - very rigid and not fun cos I am not comfortable or secure yet. I also have to deal with the fact that I'll be working longer hours, and that's just... not fun. I like being home. I like being with Paul.
So. I am keeping up my certification for teaching elementary. I can always go back to teaching. It will just be the trade off of a decent wage for more quality time at home. And that's a trade off everyone has to weigh. SUCK IT UP, ME.
No more wibbling. I am fine, job is fine, people are nice, I am a big fat whiner.
