Well, Jordan has stopped eating much of anything. We had an appointment last night for her and the vet is concerned, more about the eating than the breathing. Jordan's heart now has a galloping beat, which is not good. The next step is a series of invasive, expensive tests to find, as the dr. put it, "A needle in a haystack." She leveled with me and said what they do end up finding will likely be something that's hard to treat. The vet gave us appetite stimulants and a bronchodilator to try - she said the not eating can be caused by a stress event, and Jordan's two traumatizing trips to the vet in three days would qualify.
So. Paul and I had a serious talk after, and we've decided not to put her through the tests. We'll wait and see what happens, and if she gets sicker, we might put her to sleep, which upsets me, but I can't see in trying to figure out what is elusively wrong with her if there's very little we can do about it when we know. We are hoping she'l respond to the appetite stimulant - if we can figure out how to get it down her.
Big sigh...
