I am feeling much better today! Despite the fact that my sinuses are giving me what for. And why is this, you may ask? Why it's because I am taking a vacation. A spur of the moment, "what the hell, I only live once" vacation. I am taking two school days off, and I am going to have fun fun fun meeting Milliways floks in Rihcmond, VA and D.C. There will be dinosaurs and their inherent musuems involved, so it will be, um, educational. And stuff.

I am very excited. I can even kinda sorta afford it, so HURRAY!

Anyway, off for a pleasant weekend...

Can I ask a favour? Can you also check out the new National Museum of the American Indian for me? That is if you manage to log in on your trip :-)

And we need to know what restaurants you eat in while in DC.

Cool! I'm surprised she didn't recommend some restaurants... I will though... if you're on the Mall and need a quick respite and nice zen-like tea experience, go to Teaism (http://www.teaism.com/scripts/WebObjects.dll/Teaism.woa/) its on 8th Street (400 - 8th St. NW), its not too far a walk from the National Gallery or the Natural History Museum. Super tea! I think I had the Dragon Well last time we were there (with Nina!).

If you can convince your pals to go for Spanish food, there is an incredible Tapas place near there too, Jaleo 480 7th Street NW. The spinach-pinenut salad is totally to die for... they make a great white sangria too - but everything is good there and tapas makes for great sharing. Cafe Atlantico right around the corner (405 8th Street NW) is great too, though mainly for their latino dim sum on Saturdays (pricy but worth every single penny). (They're all around the Archives-Navy Memorial Metro stop.) (Cross street for both is E Street - Jaleo's is the corner of 7th and E.)

We got lots more for different areas just let us know ;-) We did a lot of eating out around there, ([livejournal.com profile] tigerlilyaj more than I).

[livejournal.com profile] tigerlilyaj says Austin Grill beside Jaleo on E Street has a lot of different margaritas and they're pretty good.
