Jan. 15th, 2004 09:30 pmI'm so tired. So so tired. The kids did not improve today and we have a miserable day of "training" tomorrow. Uggggg.
Okay, you weird HoE with your freaky dreams - I had a doozy of one last night. It's still creeping me out. And some of you know just how much it takes to creep me out. It was a movie format dream which is typical of my dreams - I was someone else in a storyline, but still me. Woo hoo! Seriously, Me/Not Me had just been resurrected, and I was so grateful and happy. But I was warned that after the first night of sleep I might have some hard times. So the creepy part is that I woke up in the dream and went to look in the bathroom mirror, and saw my undead, unpretty self. It was so vivid - skin blotchy in unpleasant ways, hair brittle and strange. i panicked and tried to put this special clay make up on, thinking the whole time "This will fool no one." AND I COULD FEEL MY SKIN. And it was creeeeeeeeeeeepy to the touch, let me tell you. So thanks, but that's enough for me. It was very reminiscent of Shadow's wife in American Gods, actually. But a bit too vivid for my tastes.
Smallville - I loved. Lex, poor Lex...
Angel - I liked. I blame Harmony for my dream, by the way. When she was looking in the bathroom mirror and being undead and all. And even I don't want Spike on the show anymore. He just doesn't fit. And that makes me sad sad sad.
Whee - the second half on new season two episodes for Monk starts tomorrow! I lurve that show.
The
fandom_scruples kerfuffle is interesting. I was thinking the other day about reading some of my 14 and 15 year old diaries and thinking "yeesh, I forgot I knew about that at that age." While I think that some kind of restriction on NC-17 rated fic is well and good, I also think that any smart kid who really wants to read it will be able to access it. And as I had (sneaking) access to some pretty adult stuff in my teens and amazingly came out unscathed (I was maybe the winner of the Most Educated Virgin Ever award), I still think it is the responsibility of the parents to monitor their kids and/or trust them enough to handle what's out there after bringing them up well. Black lists never really work. That just makes those on the list more desirable.
