I'm a teeny bit disappointed about Paterson Joseph. But still, now it means if I ever wrote a story where the Marquis de Carabas met the Doctor... no. That way lies madness.

Oh, Neil, but it would be such fine madness. Please, please, please?


Being an old school Who fan, I was amused when [livejournal.com profile] silveraspen mentioned the wacky Internet wank around Rose leaving. I hadn't paid attention to the new Who fandom, you see. I was amused because I knew the first rule of the Whoverse is "Don't get attached to companions or actors playing the Doctor." This ridiculous foaming at the bit that is percolating amongst the fandom base- well, it's mostly appalling, but it also makes me laugh. Oh, people. Calm down.

I am also disappointed about Paterson Joseph, because I think he'd have made a damn fine Doctor. However, I am sure Matt Smith will be just fine. The Doctor is the Doctor, no matter what. I just hope Twelve doesn't turn out to be a teenager. :-P

I have to admit, I don't even watch the show but I really wanted it to be Paterson Joseph just because of all the racists over at [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets. Because I'm spiteful like that. And he's hot.

I guess I'll just go back to clinging my dream of a James Bond played by Alexander Siddig.

I would have loved Paterson Joseph.

I guess those of us who are old skool are having an easier time. When I came to Dr. Who, I was already in college, and I started with the end of the Tom Baker series. And yes, companions leave and the Doctor regenerates. You accept it. We should be thankful for regeneration, because otherwise, the series would have ended in 1966.

Seriously. I started watching around age 11 or so with the first of the Tom Baker series with the first Romana. So yeah, totally easier to take now.

Excuse me while I have sexy sexy David Morrissey fantasies. They had to choose an actor that I actually find sexy to play the fake doctor and TEASE ME LIKE THAT. (I mean, I was spoiled enough to know that he wouldn't be the real doctor, but a girl can dream, can't she?) Sigh.

The next doctor will be played by a Jonas Brother. With a fake British accent. Enjoy Matt Smith while he lasts.
