Sigh... I had a long, heartfelt post that I just accidentally deleted. Can't write it again, as I cried plenty the first time.



Jordan died at the vet hospital tonight. Paul and Jen had hurried her there when she went into respiratory distress, most likely brought on by fluid around her heart. The vet was pretty certain she had rapid onset heart failure. I made it from class just in time to say goodbye.

We had decided to put her to sleep, because the vet was honest and said there wasn't a whole lot they could do. As we were waiting for the vet to come, we held her and petted her, and then she just slipped away.

The feisty little thing wasn't going to let the vet poke her one last time.

I'm doing okay. I'm mostly numb, and Paul and have cried buckets since she was our first official kitty - we've had her since a couple of months after we got married. She was eleven years old. I will miss her so much, but when I saw her, gasping and gurgling for air, I knew she was leaving us, and it was for the best. I'm just so glad I got to hold her one more time.

I'm so, so sorry. So hard to lose a beloved kitty. At least she didn't have a long, lingering illness. She had a wonderful happy life with terrific parents who loved her dearly and treated her great. I'll be thinking of you.
