Yarr!

We played pirates today at school. Sometimes my job can be quite fun. I taught my afternoon class how to say "shiver me timbers" and spoke in pirate speech most of the class. I made pirate hats for everyone which were then decorated with monsters, cute skeleton-ish shapes, and hearts and flowers (of course). We have this little wooden bridge/boat toy that was a boat in dramatic play this week, and I joined the kids with my pirate hat on a rollicking adventure across the seven seas, complete with a pirate queen in scarves who called the police on the dastardly boy pirates. And then smiled and told them so. Too much fun. Of course, the fact that only nine kids showed up, and all of them my good kids, was a large factor in the enjoyment of the afternoon.

Aww, the Frasier finale was nice.
