I haven't checked out Mastodon yet either, for the same reason. I probably will at some point, but it seems so complicated to get started in; it probably isn't that bad, but I am le tired.
Very grateful for good friends to grow older and tireder with, though, and for the combo of friendship and cats to kick away the blues whenever possible.
