Halloween Countdown - Oct 1

For the countdown this year, I'll be cutting and pasting ghost stories (which are often in the realm of folklore and urban legend) from the United States, primarily. There will be a lot from North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Colorado, since that's where the ghosts I know the most dwell.
