Yesterday Aspen and I went to Twist and Shout, a local indie record place that has been around a while. [livejournal.com profile] sir_gareth and [livejournal.com profile] anamazonruns? Remember our grand business idea of renovating an old theater and turning it into a movie theater/bookstore/internet cafe? Twist and Shout, Tattered Cover, and the Denver Film Society are beating us to it - they are renovating a theater four blocks from Aspen's house to do the very same thing. Arg!

On the bright side, next summer/fall we'll be in walking distance of much wonderful retail goodness when we visit Aspen.

The receptionist I sit across from is eagerly awaiting the new Harry Potter book, so we are discussing it now and then. I am eager to read it, but I find myself feeling the same way I did when OotP came out. I want to know what happens next, but at the same time, I have such hopes and high expectations for certain parts of the story to be told that I know I will have a slight feeling of letdown. That doesn't mean I dislike the books. I am not amongst the decriers of the fandom who feel JKR is not talented and the only thing good about HP is the fanfiction. However, my HP inspired creations have brought me to a point where what JKR writes and what I've written or read in fanfiction and RP are almost two separate things.

I'm telling you, though, if we don't get more backstory on Tom Riddle I will froth at the mouth. And then I'll keep writing my own versions. :-P

Attention college students (or anyone, really): help me! I am researching the effectiveness of hybrid programs at the university level such as business/education, business/technology, business/other types of programs. If you know of any at your school, comment with the name of your school. A link to the program description would be peachy keen, but I can look it up easily enough. I just need some examples by Wednesday. Thank you, guys!

I don't know anything about business, but there is the option of civil engineering/geology at Kansas State University.
